Road to GeoWoodstock: Planning Finds

In my last post I made mention that I intended for Canada’s First Giga to be my milestone 1,500th find. Yesterday I reached 1,496 meaning I have three finds to make before I log “Attended” for the Giga.

Of course, with side events that are happening before and during GWXVIII, this means I have to plan carefully so that my 1,500th find is in fact the Giga.

I surely will be attending the Milestones event, GC9WT83 Celebrate Your Milestones. That’ll be 1,499 so it’s as close to the actual milestone as I can get it. That event occurs the evening before GWXVIII officially opens so I have to do it before the Giga, not after.

Then there’s GC9RW7C GPS Adventures Maze Canada – my first and probably only ever Adventure Maze cache. It’s so rare to log a first find of a cache type you’ve never found before, so this will be a special, bucket-list experience for sure! I’ll have more spare time Friday than Saturday so this will be find 1,498.

Finally, there’s the GeoWoodstock Registration Event – GWXVIII event, which will almost certainly be logged as soon as we arrive at the Exhibition Park tomorrow morning. There’s find 1,497.

At long last, on Saturday basically as soon as I show up at the logbook table, Find 1,500GC86VDF GeoWoodstock XVIII – GWXVIII – is logged! Canada’s first Giga, my first Giga (I still have yet to attend a mega!!), and probably most attendees’ first too.

Here’s a list of past, current (for now!) and future Giga events: GIGA EVENTS
