Road to GeoWoodstock: Mama me0w
So here’s what happened. Waaaay way back in the old 2010’s (2019 to be exact) not too long after the announcement of GeoWoodstock XVIII, I decided to splurge and get the VIP registration package. It comes with special parking, a special seating area, lunch, and a s—ton of swag. Sweet deal right? After the two…

Why are the older posts in this blog so sparse?
We wish they weren’t. Our server suffered a major failure in 2019 that wiped out all our content. We were able to recover a few articles from old backups, and recreated a few more, but our thriving legacy content is largely no more.

Hint for a Puzzle Cache
It’s worth noting that Highlands_Guy, for whom this hint was prepared, passed on to the Great Giga-Event in the Sky just a few months after I sent him this. Seriously, f— cancer.

Our Caches – Dog Days #1
GC8YW4N – Dog Days #1 Welcome to the corner of UVic that used to be one of the best dog parks in town! The park is now closed but you can still walk Fido or find a cache outside the fence. The container is quite narrow but just barely big enough to squeeze a flat…

Road to GeoWoodstock: Early geo-coin
Note the date on this geo-coin I purchased at the beginning of the pandemic. I wonder if I’ll be able to get a companion coin with the revised 2022 date when I get to GWXVIII?

Have some log sheets!
Just print these out – preferably with a laser printer on Rite-In-The-Rain paper – and cut them up to get lots of log strips for micro caches! I use these in my own caches and they work really well!

Landsharkz Grab Bag
Here’s a brief unbagging video of a $25 grab bag I purchased at Landsharkz’z brick-and-mortar store at a holiday event they held today. Do you think I got a good deal? I think so. The video doesn’t quite capture eveything: I got *two* of these trackables in the bag:

Road to GeoWoodstock: the Announcement!
I love the sense of humour of the Landsharkz crew. Today a mini-me0w and I attended Yet Another Tim Horton’s Event cache, but we had to leave early due to m-ggle commitments elsewhere. We arrived, said our hellos, ate a donut, signed the log book and off we went. Later today, the event hosts changed…

Cool caches: Sticking Out Like A Sore Thumb
Here’s a really cool hide, which sadly is no more – it was against guidelines about fastening caches to trees and also somehow got muggled often (I suspect a nosy neighbour). This was GC36N4B Sticking Out Like A Sore Thumb – a cache that basically was a bark-covered film canister with a magnet that attached…
